ZAMBIAN comedian Cheelo Mwanachingwala is new president for the Comedians Association of Zambia (COAZ).
Mwanachingwala who is also Kunowa PR, the organisers of the Savenda General Insurance-sponsored comedy event dubbed ‘Anne Kansiime Confirmed Comedy Tour’ was voted into office at COAZ annual general meeting held in Ndola last week. This event was equally sponsored by Savenda General Insurance in collaboration with Garden Court, Yar FM, UBZ and Savenda Farms.
Mwanachingwala takes over from Chibwe Katebe who performed his last duty as president by announcing the award of life membership to veteran comedians, Bob Nkosha, Derrick Khondowe, Joseph Simukonda, Anita Munamonga, Ozzias Kaundula Banda, Douglas Mumbi, Annie Katamanda and Brighton Sinkala.
Other prominent comedians voted alongside Mwanachingwala are Cosmas Ngandwe aka Logic Benson, Ken Dumbo and Memory to name only a few.
