Her Honor the Vice President Mrs. Mutale Nalumango commemorated the induction Ceremony of the Reformed Church of Zambia (RCZ) Silverest Congregation.

Speaking during the event, Mrs. Nalumango said the opening of the Silverest congregation is a milestone worth celebrating because the church shapes the form of dependable human resource needed by the business community to be productive and profitable through trust worthy values derived from the word of God.

Mrs. Nalumango said His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema values the support of the church as partners in the development of the country.

She said Government remains committed to working with churches countrywide through local authorities to provide access to land for places of worship and other developmental activities.

The Republican Vice President expressed delight in the commitment of the church in human development as it guides the nation in terms of morals that align with the declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation.

She said the spread of churches is important in our modern society because of the decaying morals of our citizenry, especially among the youth.

Mrs. Nalumango encouraged the church to establish enterprises that can absorb the youth and women through jobs and developmental activities that uplift the living standards of communities.

She appealed to the private sector to partner with the church in meeting some of their needs through corporate social responsibility actions.

Speaking during the same event, Health Minister and Chongwe Constituency Member of Parliament Sylvia Masebo encouraged the congregants to get vaccinated for a better chance at fighting Corona virus.

Ms. Masebo said there are still a number of people being infected, therefore it is important not to relent on practicing COVID-19 preventive measures.

She urged members of the public to take advantage of the free vaccine initiative being offered.

She further encouraged parents to ensure that their children are vaccinated, stating that children aged 12 and up are now able to receive the vaccination.

Also present at the event was the District Commissioner Evans Lupiya, Chongwe Municipal Council Town Clerk Mulowa Sishumba, Chongwe Mayor Christopher Habeenzu, Chongwe Deputy Mayor Anita Kamanga, the area Councillor Jack Kamvuma, Madido Ward Councillor Janet Chisenga and Chongwe Ward Councillor Thomas Sakala, among others.
