North western province Patriotic Front Information and Publicity Secretary Edwin Sekelechi has resigned from his position with immediate effect.
According to the resignation letter, Mr. Sekelechi has resigned both from his position and general membership of the party.
He states that his resignation follows wider consultation with his family especially his wife who he said has sacrificed so much during the time he spent in active politics.
“I therefore wish to concentrate on my charity work of raising Environmental Awareness and Sustainable Agriculture,” reads part of the letter.
He has since wished the former ruling party good luck as it embarks on rebranding after suffering a heavy loss to the United Party for National Development (UPND).
Meanwhile, Democratic Party (DP) Zambezi east parliamentary loosing candidate Rodger Kalolu has ditched his party and joined the ruling UPND.
In his resignation letter, Mr. Kalolu has stated that he has decided to resign and join the UPND because President Hichilema’s sound leadership.
“In fact, even during the campaign period, I heavily campaigned for President Hichilema and the loosing council chairman candidate Collins Chinsembu,” Mr. Kalolu stated in his resignation letter.
