Zambia National Service (ZNS) Commander Lieutenant General Maliti Solochi has called on his officers to desist from corruption.

He says officers should instead embrace discipline and hard work.

Lieutenant Solochi notes that the service plays an important role in contributing to skills training, food security and infrastructure development in the country.

And General Solochi says the announcement by President Hakainde Hichilema on the need to upgrade roads, airstrips and make the country food secure is in line with the four pillars of the Zambia National Service.

He says the service will assist in lowering the cost of living for Zambians and subsequently improve nutrition in line with government’s agenda.

He was speaking during the farewell Parade held for immediate past ZNS Commandant Retired Lieutenant General Nathan Mulenga in Lusaka today.

And General Mulenga expressed gratitude for the opportunity given to him to serve the country for 45 years.

He said he will continue to be loyal to President Hichilema and the new administration.
