Senior Chief Kalilele of the Lamba speaking people in Mushindamo district has urged the Patriotic Front to move on after the August 12 poll outcome and focus on rebuilding the party as well as providing checks and balances to the UPND Government.
The traditional leader people should learn to accept situations and move on.
He said as a traditional leader, he worked closely with the PF government and that he will remember the previous government for providing decent accommodation by constructing him a palace.
“For me what is important for the former ruling party is to accept the outcome of the August 12 polls and move on because it is now water under the bridge,” said the traditional leader.
He was speaking when PF vice president Given Lubinda called on him at his palace.
And the traditional leader has advised the UPND government not get angry when reminded about their campaign promises made during the campaigns.
He said President Hakainde Hichilema made a lot of promises which he said should be honored for him to gain the confidence of the Zambian people.
“People are waiting patiently to see the promises, and time to start fulfilling some of these promises is now,” he said.
He has further advised the UPND to refrain from beating and harassing members of the PF as this will promote peace and unity in the country.
And Mr. Lubinda assured traditional leaders across the country that once it bounces back in power, the Patriotic Front will bring back the ministry of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs.
He said the PF attaches great importance to traditional rulers hence the reason behind the creation of the ministry which has been scrapped off by the UPND government.
“This is an assurance am giving you your Royal highness that once we bounced back to power, we shall bring back your ministry,” he said.
