Chongwe District Mayor CHRISTOPHER HABEENZU has called on Chongwe Residents to embrace the attitudes of mindset change, honesty and hard work in order to reap the benefits of the new dawn government’s developmental agenda.
Mr. HABEENZU says the government of the day has placed prior emphasis on the need for people to be self dependent and develop initiatives that are self sustainable.
He added that it is for this reason that government has established the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise to support individual initiatives.
He has also reiterated on government’s commitment to supporting cooperatives in the light of yielding desirable results in the Agricultural space.
Mr. HABEENZU said this when he officiated at the Special General Meeting for Chongwe District Cooperative Union held in Chongwe today.
Mr. HABEENZU has further advised Cooperatives in Chongwe District to be prudent and responsible in the management of farming inputs under the Farmers Input Support Program FISP.
