Western Guta of zodiac broadcasting station is now new chair of the association of the catholic journalist – central region chapter flowing an elective meeting which was held on 29 June 2024 during the general meeting at Maula parish Radio Alinafe in Lilongwe Malawi.
In an interview with this reporter , Guta who has replaced Sam Kalimba who has been on the position for 6 years said he is happy that people have entrusted him and others to head the association.
Guta who previously worked for the similar position in the sister catholic association eastern region chapter further gave assurance that him with the help of the new team will take the ACJ agenda further. “We have welcomed the development with gratitude that members of the association have seen it important to elect us,
as new leaders we want to see to it that we continue from where our predecessors left and carry on with new plans to strengthen the association .” Guta said.
The elections which were being chaired by Fr. Steve Likhutcha from St. Ignatius area 30 Lilongwe was deemed fair and peaceful.
Andrew Viano of ZBS has been elected vice chairperson, Leo Kaima vice tressure while Mary Chikaonda has maintained her position of tressure.
Blenard Mwaza of Luntha TV has been elected secretory general replacing Leo Kaima and Lucy Kajongwe of Mibawa TV is vice secretory.
The new leadership is expected to start its work January next year and is expected to lead the association for next 3 years.
