The Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) has advised health facilities in the Country to adhere to set standards of healthcare at all times.
HPCZ Public Relations Officer Mwaka Namfukwe says health facilities should not merely focus on exhibiting quality for purposes of scoring high during HPCZ routine inspections, but that they must provide consistent quality healthcare services in the interest of the public.
Ms Namfukwe said this in Southern Province where the regulatory body is assessing compliance in Class C health facilities and among health practitioners.
Out of 9 health facilities inspected in Siavonga, Chikankata and Mazabuka Districts, two private have been found operating below minimum standards.
Meanwhile, Eight health practitioners in the stated districts have been found working with expired practicing certificates.
