A Patriotic Front member in North Western Province Herold Zholomi has observed that the continuous in-fighting among PF members is likely to jeopardize the rebranding and rebuilding process of the ruling party.
Mr. Zholomi said in an interview that it is sad that party members have continued tearing each other apart instead of being united.
He said the rebranding of the former ruling party can only happen when members at all levels get united.
“As long the infighting continues, then we should forget about the rebranding and rebuilding of the party because there is power in being united,” said Mr. Zholomi.
He stated that the best time for the party to rebrand and mobilise is now and that people should not wait for 2026.
He said the provincial leadership across the country should start mobilising lower structures in order to prepare their minds for the exercise.
And Mr. Zholomi has advised the party leadership not to impose leaders on the people.
He said people should be free to select leaders of their choice and not have leaders thrust upon them.
He stated that imposing leaders on people will result in endless leadership wrangles.
“Even at national level, party positions should not be appointed but be subjected to a ballot, because the moment one is appointed, that will be the end of PF,” he said.
He said the democratic process should be allowed to take its course and allow people to challenge and be challenged.
“That way, the party will rebrand and come out very strong and the party will survive,” he said.
He has also called on the party to be apologetic to the people of Zambia in order to gain sympathy from the people.
He said he was happy that party president Edgar Lungu apologised to the Zambian people for letting them down.
