The United Party for National Development (UPND) in Solwezi is concern with the appointments President Hakainde Hichilema has made so far.

Speaking during a press briefing in Solwezi, UPND Solwezi District Secretary Amos Mpenge revealed that so far non of the party member from his executive and all party sympathisers have been appointed in any government position.

Mr. Mpenge said his executive is failing to provide answers to people that supported the party during the August polls.
He wondered why Solwezi has been left out in the appointments saying most of the government vacancies have already been filled up.

“And as we speak, the President is concluding the appointments and so far we have heard rumors of people that are going in the foreign mission of which from the names we are hearing, non is from Solwezi.

“So, we want to find out from the President and our Secretary General Mr. Batuke Imenda why it is like that,” said Mr. Mpenge.

He said his executive including the general membership has men and women with qualifications and some of them have served before in the public service.

“They have experience and they have what it takes to serve in any position. So, that is our humble appeal to the President and the Secretary General,” he said.

And district treasurer Nobby Mwanza said the executive during the general election did not work in isolation but with different individuals that contributed to the party’s victory.

He acknowledged the fact that not everyone can be appointed but that at least even one or two people be appointed.
