Shibuyunji Town Council has set in motion government’s directive to unblock drainages and remove all manner of waste before the onset of the rainy season.
Shibuyunji Council workers led by Health Inspector Dalphine Mwiinga today conducted the “Keep Zambia Clean, Green and Healthy Campaign at Nampundwe Market.
The workers embarked on unblocking drainages at the Market following a directive by Minister of Local Government Mr. Garry Nkombo for Local Authorities countrywide to put in measures of unblocking the drainage systems in ensuring that all waste is only left in designated dump sites.
The Minister emphasized the importance for citizens to live in a clean environment to avoid the devastating effects of water borne diseases.
The “Keep Zambia Clean, Green and Healthy Campaign” is conducted every last Friday of the month.
This is according to a statement issued by Shibuyunji Town Council public relations officer Esther Kanswe.
